The War on Iraq's Women
This is the cost of war. Those that promote war are responsible.
AlterNet: Blogs: PEEK: The War on Iraq's Women: "For at least two women in every 12 who seek emergency delivery assistance here, either the mother or her child dies."

Finally - some good news for the day.
Family values belong in the family not in politics. My values are my own and I don't want anyone else's forced on me. Religion can't do it because it has no force other than a vague threat of hell. Government can try to do it with laws but that disenfranchises a huge number of the people. I believe having my own values is a constitutional right.

Does Dick Cheney Really Love His Grandson?
I believe that Cheney does love his daughter and grandson. He can't speak up and remain a Republican. He has the balls to do about anything else, but not this.
AlterNet: Blogs: PEEK: Does Dick Cheney Really Love His Grandson?
From the article:
"Bush is now threatening to veto the DC Appropriations bill because it no longer includes gay-bashing language that the GOP has put in there for years. The language banned the DC government from using federal funds to in any way support domestic partner benefits, civil unions and the like (not that the DC government was using federal funds, but it was a nice chance for the GOP to gay bash anyway). Now that the Democrats have dropped the GOP gay-bashing language from the bill, George Bush is threatening a veto."

Iraqi Women the Worse for War
Our children are suffering and dying in Iraq. Their children are suffering and dying in Iraq. We have created a "democracy" dominated by religious affiliation and ethnicity. A "democracy" with "justice" by Shariah law.
