Bush uses fear for your children as long as his are safe.
Now that Bush has talked about our kids, can we ask about his? - By John Dickerson - Slate Magazine

Saving energy
Simple solutions can save a lot of energy.
I have a device called a Kill-A-Watt which I used to measure energy usage for about everything in the house. After measuring the electricity that is used by devices that are powered off I put power strips that I can turn off when I'm not using things like TV, modems, cable boxes, VCR's, DVD players. They save a lot of wasted power.
In Connecticut, I get green electricity from Sterling Planet.

Summer's Here and It's Time to Restore Our Rights
Email from the ACLU that I want to pass on.
Summer's Here and It's Time to Restore Our Rights
Restore Our Rights. Get on the Bus to Washington!
On June 26th, the ACLU will bring together thousands of people in Washington, D.C. to demand the restoration of habeas corpus and all our constitutional rights. It’s time to end torture and CIA kidnappings, and close secret prisons like Guantanamo.
Habeas Corpus is missing. Last October, Congress allowed the president to sign away a fundamental constitutional right. It's time to take it back. Join us on June 26, 2007

U.S. Senate rollcall on Iraq funding
Remember who voted for this bill so you can vote against them for giving Bush another blank check.

The Democrats don't deserve a vacation
I will vote against anyone who voted for Iraq funding without timelines. How about a little backbone legislators? On the first bill I asked the progressives to compromise but with Bush it's all or nothing. The time for compromise has passed and the Dems caved in with another blank check.

Fear sells merchandise
Big pharma targets everyone with a dollar in their pocket. All corporations use fear to sell. Will you look good to your neighbors? Do you look like you're aging? Is your car shiney enough? Will you spouse love you? Will your children? Kids killing for sneakers and video games. Corporate greed is ruining the Earth, our health and our children's future. Stop buying what you don't need.

Vet Prosecuted for Protesting Military Recruitment in Library
I can't picture military recruitment in a library. Tim Coli and his wife were right to protest. Being a veteran, I know recruiters lie. The world seems backwards with lies being rewarded and truth being punished.

Wednesday Night Ambush
Bush called Ashcroft's wife for ICU access. Card and Gonzales show up. Comey saved the day. Gonzales is caught in more lies. This goes right up to the top.

"Even during his confirmation hearing, Gonzales was apparently intentionally misleading the Senate Judiciary Committee - because he knew damn well, at the time, that not only had he visited Ashcroft's hospital bed in the dead of night, but that Bush continued the illegal domestic wiretap program for weeks, in contravention to the DOJ's opinion."

Pope Softens Remarks on Conversion of Natives - New York Times
Did the christians think of asking the indiginous people? Christians, muslims and republicans just grab everything. My view of all religion from the old testament on is very negative. Where will Fallwell be when the rapture comes?
Pope Softens Remarks on Conversion of Natives - New York Times:
"In a speech in Brazil last week, the pope sparked controversy by saying that native populations had been “silently longing” for the Christian faith brought to South America by colonizers.
“The proclamation of Jesus and of his Gospel did not at any point involve an alienation of the pre-Columbus cultures, nor was it the imposition of a foreign culture,” he said in Brazil. "

I want to visit Cuba
But it is illegal. Can't we go where we want as a free people? I can go to Vietnam. I can go to China and Russia. The government is using the trade embargo to bypass our right to travel. I will get there.
