The people doing this call themselves Christians. This is contrary to any teaching that I know of in the bible. I mean the new testament. Although I was raised Catholic I didn't listen that closely. I was busy watching to see if a nun was going to get me. This was back in the 50's and the church was scary, in latin. I do think I got the gist of it though. You are supposed to do good. You are not supposed to do wrong. Killing was at the top of the 10 wrongs even in the crazy old testament.

A while back I wrote a blog on TPM asking Democratic Progressives to compromise to get the funding bill for Iraq with a time line passed. They compromised. Now that Bush has vetoed the bill, unwilling to reason, I want no more compromise. If the time lines are taken out of the bill, progressives should vote against it. Send back the same bill. It's time to take control and de-fund the war.
